¶ Surely the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah are his pleasant plant, and he looked for [a]judgment, but behold oppression: for righteousness, but behold [b]a crying.

Woe unto them that join house to house, and lay field to field, till there be no [c]place, that ye may be placed by yourselves in the midst of the earth.

This is in mine [d]ears, saith the Lord of hosts. Surely many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair without inhabitant.
